Description: Standing apart from others, isolated longing for friends and company.
I believe my life reached the all-time depths of my word when I found myself this past Christmas morning hospitalized with COVID-19 virus with pneumonia on oxygen and isolation in a quarantine ward allowing no family or visitors – period!
My wife of 39 years had to pass things to me via the emergency room staff: that my friend is loneliness!
But once again, I am home and off of oxygen and counting my blessings!
However, do you know that loneliness can take many forms and depths of despair, especially without faith in God?
In this day and age, you would think with all the advantages and things to do, and see, that the word loneliness would be seldom used, you would have to work hard to feel lonely, right? The truth is loneliness without our heavenly father to lean on is an easy trap in the mindset to enter into. One can feel lonely in the middle of a room crowded with other people. I can remember being at a private party when I was much younger when all other people involved all knew each other and were so much to be advanced in life than me. I kept drinking beer and all evening to block out the loneliness I felt; I forgot God!
The trouble is that whatever we try to do Is with that loneliness spirit in our hearts, is never the solution; not the days, the booze, the drugs, the porno, etc., loneliness in many ways is a choice we make on our own. In my case, my self-esteem was low, and I felt rejected, and my mind excepted the fact I truly was alone.
I didn’t take the time to remember the Lord. I knew I became too wrapped up in my pity and my self-centeredness.
When you ignore God, you learn to ignore the truth that could be told or the goodness that surrounds us,
Isaiah 43.2 says, when you pass through The waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
Zephaniah 3:17 reads, the Lord God is in our midst. The mighty one will save. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will quiet you with his love. He will rejoice over you, His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.
The point: is this God never wanted us to be or feel alone in this world, and in thought in mind and spirit, or actions. Throughout the Bible, God’s word repeatedly addresses this fact.
In summary, rethink any negative thoughts and feelings. Except yourself as God loves his chosen child. God feels you are important as any of his children and loves you so much. Take some chances and see what God does.
